We believe the Holy bible to be the only infallible, unchanging word of God and revealed in it is the unquestionable proof of His healing, saving and delivering power eternal.

We believe in the death, burial, resurrection and the inevitable return of Jesus Christ.

We believe in water baptism and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, giving necessary power to the saints.

We believe that sanctification and true holiness is in the heart, the motives, the attitude, in the inner man, manifesting outwardly according to God's rightly divided word and will.

The Word is what will guide us and supplement our growth.

We will engage the surrounding communities with love and kindness in an effort to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Where God leads us, we will follow.

There will be a strong focus on learning, understanding and retaining the Word of God, as well as the practical application of scripture in our everyday lives.

We are here to grow the members, not just to grow the membership.

Pastor Jerroll Christopher

Pastor J, of “The Word Church Millington,“ was raised in Millington TN. He grew up in church where his father, Bishop Roger Christopher, founded in 1981 the organization “Emmanuel Global Ministries“, now affectionately known as TWC. He has been preaching God‘s Word for 25 years and began pastoring in 2021.

Pastor J has served as Minister of Music, Media Director, Youth & Young Adult director, Audio Engineer, and Sunday School Teacher. In addition to serving under his father, he faithfully served as Associate Minister under Pastor Carl Swift (Pilgrim‘s Rest MB Church, Memphis TN) and Pastor Michael Martin (Oak Spring Baptist Church, Arlington, TN).

He is the father of one, Justin Christopher, but loves each child as if they were his own! He is now awaiting elevation to “Bishop“ by the fellowship under which TWC is covered, Independents Fellowship International, led by Bishop C. E. MeBane II.

Lady Stacey Christopher

Lady Stacey is First Lady of TWC and Founder of “The Sister Gathering.“ Raised in Baltimore MD, she was brought up in the church where her father, Superintendent Lionell Shields, pastors Antioch Temple COGIC. She has been preaching for approximately 10 years and also faithfully serves TWC on the ministerial staff, music department, outreach ministry and anywhere else she is asked to help. She is a mother of one, Ayanna Holmes, but loves all children as she does her own. She’s a wonderful wife, mother and First Lady who we all love!

Bishop Roger Christopher Dr.

Bishop Roger Christopher, Pastor Emeritus of “The Word Church Millington,” formerly “Emmanuel Global Ministries of which he is the founder, has been in ministry for 49 years. He pastored EGM for 41 years, before passing the mantle to his son and current Pastor Bishop-elect Jerroll Christopher. He is also Founder & Bishop Emeritus of the fellowship affiliation “Independents Fellowship International.” Being a veteran of the U.S. Army, Bishop Christopher has always held a special place in his heart for the men and women of the Armed Forces. In 2016, the city of Millington saw fit to name a street after him. Greenhill Road is now known as Bishop Roger Christopher Drive. He is also Co-Founder of LauRog Ministries, where he currently fronts a bible-teaching podcast called, “Grace and Truth!” A non-flamboyant, non-pretentious, non-egotistical man full of integrity and kindness, well-taught and well-learned, he remains one of God’s unmistakable giants and one of the greatest living experts of scripture specializing in Biblical History and Eschatology (End Time Prophecy). He holds an earned D.Mon from Andersonville Theological Seminary.

The Doctor is in!

Dr Laura B. Christopher started speaking on the youth speaking circuit from Gospel Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Neasbie Alston for the National Baptist organization at the early age of 14 and continues to this day. She also directed choirs, ensembles, and singing groups for 33 years. She studied professional opera under the renowned opera singer, Ms. Vera Little (Frankfurt Germany) for 2 years, enhancing her own singing vocation. She is the author of two books, “Daughters Are Prophesying” (4th edition workbook) and “Unused Vision & Untapped Anointing.” Her theological Alma Maters are Liberty University, Andersonville Theological Seminary and Northwestern Theological Seminary. Dr. Christopher continues to elevate, innovate, and create for the Kingdom. Keep rising “Good Doctor!”

The Word Church Millington serves as the headquarters for Independents Fellowship International (i.f.i.).

Founded by Bishop Roger & Dr. Laura B. Christopher over 20 years ago, i.f.i. is an affiliation of autonomous churches, ministries, and individuals who operate to promote the Kingdom of God.

i.f.i. gives independents the opportunity to gather and absorb the collective might and motivation of others while also providing an avenue of strength, unity, fellowship, and a means of affiliation.
